was the year of innovation. This edition had four important appointments:
For the first time, the location chosen for the activities was the Centro Polifunzionale per lo Sviluppo del Territorio, near the ex Gezoov area. Our prestigious guests were: Giuseppe Gaeta, headmaster of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples; Olga Scotto di Vettimo from the same Academy; Alejandro Vitaubet, headmaster of the Art Center La Regenta; Ricardo Suarez, delegate of the open-air Museum Los Llanes De Aridane.
was the year of the children festival. The program was organized especially for children: there were reading, music and game activities with eight artists hosted in San Potito Sannitico. The aim was to encourage young people to develop shared creativity. The foreign guests were: Luxor and Juss Justina from Argentina, Hosh from Spain; from Chile Matu and Mono Gonzales who came for the second time in our town. Vito Romanazzi from Italy (Apulia region) created a sculpture using recycled and local material; Pablo Perez and Lia Ateca from the Canary Islands, who organized a group exhibition with all the children. Ivan Martino created a small adventure park for children only using natural materials, like wood or ropes.
was the year of the garden festival. Every activity had the garden as main theme: from the Rural Design workshop for interstices and fragments of landscape, to the Garden Games; from the biodiversity workshops to the Garden Music in the buildings of the historical town center; from LunGrabbe theatre, with the Dramaturgy of the Art Landscape, to the San Potito Sannitico flower and vegetables exhibition. There were also many activities related to cinema and Public Arts. Every day it was possible to enjoy or to take part in the artistic productions and to meet the filmmakers who shot a short film in and about our town in just 7 days. The artists hosted were: Nespoon from Poland, Cactus&Maria from Italy, Boamistura from Spain, Mariela Arjas from Argentina, Bifido from Italy, Hyuro from Argentina and Mono Gonzales from Chile.
was the year of the music festival. Our special guests were international stars and Italian jazz musicians who wanted to explore our territory. The festival became a travelling one, visiting 12 towns around Caserta, offering a mix of art, shows, tourism and culture. In July, the historical town center of San Potito Sannitico hosted different musicians, from jazz to Afro-American music.
was the year of tales. The protagonists of the festival, called La notte delle Fate, were comics, street artists and a lot of magic.
was the year of public performances. Theatre companies, musicals and comedies took place in the streets of the town. During the festival, painters created a village of colours with their instant works of art.
was the year of the Trio “SGM”. The trio was composed by Peppe Servillo, born in Caserta and founder, singer and songwriter of the Avion Travel group; Javier Edgardo Girotto, born in Cordoba, who started studying and playing sax at the age of 10; Natalio Luis Mangalavite, founder and leader of the AIRES TANGO group: his music is a mix of tango and jazz, characterized by improvisation, writing and arrangements. The Latin American traditional music connected and mixed with European sounds, creating an emotional and evocative music show, not to be missed!
was a very important year, because San Potito Sannitico became one of the stops of the Paragliding World Cup, the most famous paragliding event. After having competed in Brazil, Japan, China and Greece, 130 of the strongest athletes challenged themselves in our skies. Moreover, 100 filmmakers from the CinemadaMare festival brought life to our town for one week with their short films.
was the year of openness and exchange with foreign countries. The first exchange between San Potito Sannitico and the Canary Islands Cultural Centre La Regenta took place. The town hosted many artists and their virtual works of art: Paco Guillèn and his Sound Drawings, Rachel Ponce and her Roles, Alberto Garcia and his Free Taxi, Rocio Arevalo and her XXLGirls, Esther Azpeitia and her Water Maps, Gregorio Viera and his Faces Places and Laura Gonzales with her Pantone 1. The town hosted again 100 filmmakers from all over the world joining the new edition of the CinemadaMare festival.
was the year when the skies of San Potito Sannitico Sannitico were full of paragliders. In the Regional Matese Park, our town hosted the Italian Open Paragliding Cup, in the south of Italy for the first time from its creation. CinemadaMare and its filmmakers offered free cinema for everyone, screening their short films shot in town during their weekly stay.
was the year of theatre, with five events characterized by different stories and dramaturgies. The town hosted classic performances and original ones by young artists.
was the year of CinemadaMare, the longest travelling campus of the world. 100 filmmakers from more than 65 different countries crowded the town for one week to shoot their short films in the venue of San Potito Sannitico.
was the year of training. The most important event was the workshop “Step by step with animation cinema” organized by professor Raffaele Luponio, teacher of pictorial disciplines and action movies expert. The goal of the workshop was to promote the interpretation and creation of an animation film in an educational context. The course had theoretical and practical lessons, in order to stimulate the imaginations of the participants through different techniques, such as decoupage, pixilation or modelling clay.
was the year of cinema. The Fate Festival organized film screenings under the stars. The screenings included famous films, such as “Il paradiso all’improvviso” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”. The town hosted literal meetings, music, theatre workshops and a beautiful old photographs exhibition.
